AI Chat Organizer — Privacy Policy

AI Chat Organizer ("the extension") helps you sort your ChatGPT and Claude conversations into folders using AI. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how. We do not operate any server, and we never receive your data.

1. What the extension accesses

• Your API key (BYOK): The OpenAI or Anthropic API key you enter is stored only in your browser via chrome.storage.local. It is sent only to the AI provider you select (OpenAI or Anthropic) to perform classification, using a direct browser-to-provider connection. It is never sent to us or any third party.
• Conversation titles: When you click "Auto-organize", the extension reads the titles of conversations shown in your ChatGPT/Claude sidebar and sends those titles to your chosen AI provider for category classification. Full conversation contents are not read or sent.
• Local settings & cache: Your category list, classification results (cache), and monthly usage count are stored locally in your browser only.

2. Data we collect

None. The extension has no backend server. We (the developer) do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to your API key, your conversations, or any personal data.

3. Third-party services

• OpenAI / Anthropic: Conversation titles are sent to whichever provider you choose, under your own API key, subject to that provider's privacy policy.
• Paddle: If you choose to upgrade to the paid plan, payment is processed by Paddle.com, our authorized reseller and merchant of record. We never see or store your card details. See Paddle's privacy policy for how payment data is handled.

4. Data sharing & sale

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone. We cannot — we never receive it.

5. Permissions

The extension requests only the permissions needed to function: local storage (settings/cache), access to ChatGPT/Claude pages (to read the sidebar and show the organizer), and network access to the AI provider APIs (for classification) and our license server (to check Pro status).
